These two pict are from 1942 taken by the Red River in Louisiana. These and many more were taken on trot lines. On the back of the picture was written. 32 lbs catfish LA Red River.’42
I could be wrong…but I think my dad had too many bottle bass. I think the 32 lbs cat got away….
But in his dreams…it can be 32…I’m not going to tell him any differant!

Wow! All this time you lead us to believe you came from wallnot blood. Or maybe we just assume that of everyone that lives in the northland. But to find out, your Pa was a true catt’r. Maybe now snaugerfinhunter will be a little easier on you.

When I came home yesterday, my wife asked me to take her to Wabasha this weekend. I thought she wanted to see the eagles, but to my surprize, she wanted to look at catfish t-shirts at some restaurant that Grumpy Old Men was filmed at…..

Notice my hands are a little smaller in this picture?

Does this count towards my goal of being a official Catfisherman?

Nice fish Brian. Who caught it??? LOL

For all you Red River fishermen this is a flathead catfish. I think he was using a channel kitty for bait when he caught it.

I usually not this mean. I think you guys are rubbing off on me.

Wow! That is you, Briank? with a kitty. And yes I do believe you were using a channel for bait, your fish still has the teeth marks in its tail. I would think that the channel would have let go of it when you were reeling it in.

Good looking fish, sorry I can’t say that about the fisherman.

See ya, catmaster or is it master catter, I know it is master something

Yes it is hard to tell that’s me with that big smile…much bigger than when I’m holding a little baiteye.
I do hope to fish with you, ICBC and BFH sometime this year. I want to get some instruction on how to use circle hooks with bullheads.

Then I’ll be a master baiter like the two of you.

And don’t worry, when I land the MN record flat this summer, I’ll give the two of you credit on Ch 5.
