The Cats Incredible Catfish tournament in East Grand Forks has been set for August 2nd and 3rd. This is a 150 two person team tournament that will fill within a couple of weeks after the entry blanks are sent out. This is the largest catfish tournament in the country and fishermen from across the US will be there to try to catch some cats. If you are interested in fishing this tournament contact the East Grand Forks Chamber of Commerce for an entry blank and mail it in as soon as you get it. They mail the entry blanks out about March 1.
The very next weekend, August 10th and 11th, the Cats on the Red Catfish Classic will be held in Lockport, Manitoba. This is a great tournament with some unbelievable catches. It usually takes at least a 20 lb average just to get in the money. I have had more fun fishing this tournament than any other. I would highly recommend fishing this tournament, there will be catfishermen from across the US and Canada there fishing for the monster catfish the Red River is known for.
