Anyone have this new bow yet? I haven’t shot it yet, but I am planning on going in this coming weekend to shoot that bow along with others to see how I like it/them. My current bow is roughly 18 years old, it’s time for a new one. I am hoping/figuring, that no matter what I end up purchasing, it should last me long enough to get me into a crossbow set up (when I am old enough) I have heard that the Red Works is a flat out awesome set up. All the new changes are kickazz on this bow.
Like I said, I will be shooting other bows this weekend too, just looking for feed back on the new Hoyt. Has anyone shot it during this cold snap? How did it perform? The carbon bows make me a little nervous with our climate up here in MN.

I have not shot the Redwrx yet but it does look like a pretty sweet bow. I bought Mathews Halon 6 a couple years back and absolutely love it. It is a bit of a heavy bow, but I feel like I could throw it off a bridge and still shoot it. When I was in the buy buying process, I shot all of the flagship bows and felt that the Halon had the least amount of hand shock and really liked the 85% let-off cams. The Elite Impulse 31 was a sweet shooting bow too, had the best back wall I have ever felt. If you can test the Triax, give it a shot too. Report back with your findings, I’m curious to hear your thoughts.

So….I shot the Hoyt REDWRX, I shot the PSE Carbon Air Stealth, the Bowtech Realm and the Elite Ritual on Saturday. Trying to keep personal name brand preference aside, I shot all the bows twice each. All of these bows were smooth, quiet, light and well made. There were pro’s for each and very, very few cons. One might have been slightly quieter, one might have been slightly easier drawing, one was definitely the lightest (PSE) but all were sweet set ups…So it was a Chevy vs Ford vs Dodge conversation. Like I stated before, I bought my existing bow brand new in 2001, (Hoyt Hypertech) so anything I shot would be a giant improvement. It was hard for me to tell the difference one way or the other on why or why not to buy any of the brands that I shot. So I went with a name and brand that I was comfortable with. I decided on the REDWRX and it is being set up for me to pick up in the next few days. Kuiu® Verde 2.0 is the camo pattern that I chose with a new 5 pin sight, new drop-away, new stabilizer and a new quiver. It shoots at 340 fps, has 85% let off, will be set up at 65 lbs and weighs in at 3.9 lbs bare bones. I will post some pictures when I pick up the bow, really excited to start shooting this beast and call it my own.

Congrats on the new bow purchase Prieser. Sounds like you did your homework.

Interested to hear your review of the bow when you’ve had a chance to get it up and running and shoot some arrows.

I looked up that camo pattern on that specific bow, and man does it look sweet! I’m also looking forward to hearing how you like it after putting some arrows through it. I hope you’re able to break it in fully this fall!

Here is the bow. Setting it up and shooting it has been very fun. Micro adjustment on the sights make it so easy to sight in. I am honestly kicking around trading in the sight already and going to a single adjustable pin. The bow is so flat shooting that my pins are very close together…. I added a kisser on this bow, which I never had before. Really helps me keep the same routine and draw back when shooting.
