So my plans of heading to the cabin got cancelled, so I plan on heading down to Red Wing/ Lake Pepin. Anyone been out this week? Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I plan on bringing both spinning and trolling gear.

    Thanks!

Going out this evening and the plan is to pull 3 ways on the Bay city flats and troll raps on the can line.

My thought is to put in at Hok Si La first, try that area for a while, if nothing comes of it, move on to the colville landing area, and probably finish in red wing.

    2 cents….

Most reports starting early this year was trolling, many downstream, continues through today, what that tells me these are reaction bites. Lots of forage equals lots of fat and happy fish and they are striking from instinct.

Trolling is probably the most boring thing in the world to me so I’d be looking at other ways to get these fish to react.

i figured the trolling bite was probably the way to go. i have started to put together a good setup for it so I am excited to do it. Also is nice and easy when you have someone with you who likes to sit and watch a rod bend back. hoping for some good action tomorrow

Fished for 2 hours this evening. Fish all came on a white shad rap 2.5-3 MPH

Seems like glass raps would be a good bait. Always thought of them as creeper baits, fish can hear em, gets closer and closer without seeing then out of nowhere there it is and smash.
