How is the clarity up there with water rising and runoff? How about debris? Down here in Lax the river is rising at a crazy pace and we still have ice.

    Thanks for any info

And another foot since then. I would call it stained. I could still see the log in the water 1.5 feet down clearly.

Was planning a trip up there next weekend. Coming from Milwaukee area. What do you think river conditions will be? Would it make sense to hold off a week or do?

    Morning ice is the worst.

I’m still 50/50 on coming up. Any last advise?

    Go for it.
Friday through Sunday I put over 70 miles on pool 4 from the dam to the ice on Pepin including Wisconsin channel and race track.

Things can change fast if the dam lets ice through (see my picture above) but that is short lived.

Read historical ido reports from March if your not sure how to fish.

Pockets of fish in many many places.

I pulled out the seccie tube yesterday for the summer.

The reading in Red Wing was 10cm which might be the lowest reading I’ve taking in 5 years. Normally it’s in the twenty’s and in the early summer months, 30’s is the norm except for after a rainfall.

    10cm’s is about 4 inches.

Well we did go for it. I will say it was tough fishing caught a few shorts and saugers. I can see with better river conditions this is a great place to fish. Everyone I came in contact with was great. I even talked to Doug. I will be back.
