    I went to College and spent a few years after in Winona working for Fastenal. I can verify this 100%. Nothing better than when it was someone’s birthday or special occasion at work and we’d get a box of still-warm Bloedow’s Glazed donuts!

    Pete’s bakery was sold a couple of years ago. I’m an old scratch baker I’ve been doing it for 48 years and a lot has changed over the years. I bake for Eldens in Alexandria MN .We do quite a few products from scratch, cookies, pies, pie bars pumpkin bars Angel foods are all scratch no mixes with this old guy.If any of you guys are up in this area to fish stop in after 9 thirty pm for a warm cake donut, we also make a nasty bun called a Zorba- long stem green onion cheddar cheese and garlic powder mixed into the bun pretty good stuff

    After 48 years in the business do you ever get sick of taste testing? Having been battling cancer for the last 3 years and doctors wanting me to gain weight back this would be a dream job.

    Were you working at Eldens about 6 years ago during the big remodel? I was in there doing interior construction. Sometimes it was from 8 pm until 8 am. Your baking smells drove me crazy for 3 months!! 🤣 I came and got fresh donuts around 3-4 am a couple times a week!

    I just had a Hanisch doughnut this morning. The Mrs. brought a few home the day before and it was still pretty damn good. I’d give it a 9/10 one day old.

    Yeah we made our danish from scratch up till the it was hard to get help to work nights

    You never get sick of a warm sugared cake donut or warm bread loaded with butter so no I don’t get sick of taste testing just get fatter
