Fished red wing area for about 5 hours Friday afternoon.

Tried 3-ways and jig and plastics with no luck. Switch to jig/minnow. Managed a couple shorts and one bass near the dam.

    Water temps about 50.

Really curious how the pros do this weekend. Maybe they’ll crack the code.

    Btw…whose boat is the Scratcher?

I love seeing that boat. Great name.

I was out yesterday afternoon too till past dark. Only few walleyes for me. White bass and sheepies were biting well though. They were hitting blades and plastics. Saw some sauger caught but not as many as one might expect this time of year.

Made the commitment to learn to throw blades and lipless cranks yesterday afternoon. One walleye, one sauger and sheepshead. There were very few people out. No one in the scour hole, a few hiding from the wind on the wing dams, a few off the sand bar up on the east side by the dam and didn’t seem like anybody was catching to much of anything. Marked lots of fish. Seems like the bite was way off of normal? Was amazed at the lack of people? Wind stunk to deal with coming straight up stream. But still a fun day to be out. Will definitely be throwing blades and rattling raps in the future, fun way to fish.

After seeing the bite and nobody out, I see why there’s zero reports or pics floating around the web.

Post-spawn lull? How soon before people are trolling the lake? How long does it take the bulk of the fish to migrate back down to the main lake area?

Two guides did very well on Friday.

    One boat kept 16.

    Saturday wasn’t as good.

My neighbor did ok on Sunday with a live bait rig anchored. They had a variaty of white, smallmouth, perch, walleye and sauger.

    Btw…whose boat is the Scratcher?

There’s a reason that boat is named the “Scratcher”. LOL!

Actually when I see the boat I must always yell…it’s the SCRATCHA!
