This big guy settled down on a limb of our old oak and played peek-a-boo with me early this morning.
Its fun having the larger raptors visit and this one seemed to not mind our being near it.
The air was pretty thick when I got the picture, hence the haziness.
IFR conditions and hawk must not be rated for Instrument Flight.
He looked a little rough. I wonder if he had a tangle with another. Looked like a juvenile and going thru a molt but I’d think they’d be done with that for this year. He flew away with no problems…probably just wind worn.
