Day one of our annual Red River channel cat trip is in the books. It was kind of a slow start this morning with only one good take, which turned out to be a 15lb 14oz (33.5″) bruiser caught by my oldest and our biggest fish of the day. Thankfully we were just warming up.
We ended up catching the 15-14 along with 15-7 (33.5″) 14-2(33″), 11-4, 10-1, plus another half dozen between 4lb and 10lbs. Anything under 4 and we didn’t bother taking measurements.
All in all it ended up being quite a day. We had a quad on at one point, landed 3 of the four (it was mine that came off!). Another time my nephew hit his 15-7, while my brother-in-law landed his 11-4. Good memories made with the kids today!
