Fat heads or shiners. Stop by the gas station in Blackduck on the way up. It is on the left side going north and is very busy. The guys their have their fingers on the pulse of Red Lake. Also any of the resorts will be able to point you in the right direction also. Good Luck.

I would get your shiners by home most times they are tough to get up on Red. We use shiners under the deadstick and fatheads for jigging. Sometimes we pick up in deer river use a bubbler and they do not die on us before we get there.

Red Buckshots ,frostees , jigging raps are the 3 love to use up there.

Deadstick was the ticket for us last weekend. Tingler and ripping rap caught some fish too. Good luck!

Anything in red was getting the job done last weekend. Also, we had a tip up set about 30yds from the house and it out fished the deadstick 4:1.

Definitely no need for an extension LOL
That’s just a quick detach and adjustable extension I leave on my auger all the time. Not quite that time of year yet!

Take a look at my picture. That was a 17 inch walleye last year on Red with 17 fish heads in it, all fresh!

It’s probably a great advertisement for TUCR and noisy rattle reels! I guess he just tried for head #18 and his luck ran out.
