Greetings! Does anyone have a recommendation for a good deep cycle battery? I may go with the flooded kind, 24 group due to limited space and weight concerns. I will be running a 24 volt system.

    I’ve always had luck with Interstate 27 and 31. Never tried a 24. I use 2 x Interstate lead-acid group-31 for my troller and a 31 AGM for cranking/electronics.

I swapped mine out a pair of AGM’s thru Cabelas a few weeks ago. There is a noticeable difference in how long the batteries last compare to the lead acid ones that were in the boat before (at least according to the battery meter on the trolling motor)

Best bargain? Duracell AGM 31s at Sam’s Club.
Best Overall? Odyssey 31s. Extremely pleased.

I use to swear by the resolutes sold at fleet farm but having 3 warranted in less than a year does not make me very confident in them anymore. Two of them were dated the same 3/17 so maybe they had a bad run.

I have heard very mixed reviews on Interstate, I think people get them because they are so available. Boat dealership where I got my boat said they crunched the numbers and AGMs are not worth the extra cost.
Some guy on this site reccomended Nappas, guy at Nappa store said 5 years ago he was not reccomending the Nappa battery but now he has because they have really improved the quality. At the end of the season top off the fluid with distilled water, takes 5 minutes-good luck
