Recommendations for Prop Work

I have some stainless props that need some modifications to be ideal for my setups. I have a guy that does very good prop work, fairly priced and quick turnaround, but he’s more of a just make it work guy than a maximize the performance kinda guy, so I’d like recommendations for who the real guru’s with in-depth knowledge are that I can give my details to, and have them KNOW how to get maximum performance.
I’d prefer to have someone local to the east metro, but I’m willing to ship them if necessary.

I had dah propellers do a stainless prop for me. Wow the difference was remarkable.
You will have to ship the prop though.

I gave them what the boat was currently doing for hole shot, top end speed at what RPM and trim level.
They recuped it, polished it and dropped a pitch. Boat went from a top end of 58 to 64 mph between the prop work and raising the motor 3 holes.
My hole shot also improved. This was on a Nitro NX 882 with a Mercury XR6 engine.

Mark’s Prop Shop in Stacy was my go-to, and my uncle’s, and my grandpa’s, but I heard Mark recently sold his blocks and got out of the prop world. The place down the road- I think maybe countryview marine? I’m sure if you called Advanced Welding Technology in Stacy and asked Mark who does props now he would tell you.

I was just at marks 10 minutes ago. It’s really a shame he left the prop world. He has been great to us for many years. Now it’s just fancy welding.

I’v used Prop MD in Plymouth for repair work on aluminum props. Advice on which propeller gives maximum efficiency and top speed is a whole different story. Really the only way to determine that is to try props and see which ones work best.

They were hell bent that a 3 blade prop would give me better performance. I tried it. It was absurdly bad. Hole shot took forever and top speed went down. I’ve since gone back to the factory 4 blade that came with the motor.

I use Prop MD for my nibral prop fixes, and they come back better than new. I’ve never had them modify a prop, though.

Agreed! Formula is where I go. They also do really nice boat rigging.

Was Mark’s prop located in little Canada years ago?
