I have a Thompson Center Pro Hunter FX and would like to put a scope on it, looking for recommendations for what would work best.

I have a Nikon Pro Staff 2X7 on my .50 and its all I could ask for. Bushnell makes a 1.5X4 designed for slug guns that does nicely too if you aren’t looking at shots beyond 100 yards where the extra magnification would be helpful.

I haven’t had the Pro Staff off 4 power in several years.

I have a TC Triumph with a Nikon Omega that I am very happy with. I use TC sabots with 3 50 grain pellets and am accurate well past 100 yds.

I have used the nikon inline xr muzzleloader scope with the bdc reticle. It is excellent. I have used it for I think 5 years now and shot I shot at least 10 deer with it and haven’t missed yet. Longest shot was 170 yards. The nikon spot on app is a must if you plan on shooting long distances. Mine is mounted on a cva accura v2.

I also have the Nikon Omega and like it a lot. If you’re going to take advantage of the BDC reticle, make sure you read the instructions on how to use it.

I have a Leupold Ultimate slam 3x9x40 on my Knight revolution extremely happy with it, range compensation to 300 yd,very clear, holds its zero, and backed by Leupolds warranty should something go wrong.

I don’t have any experience with a muzzy, but I would find it hard to put anything but Vortex on my guns from here on out. Extremely reasonable pricing for high quality optics. Also their 100% no questions asked lifetime warranty is so worth it for hunting gear! Plus they are Wisconsin owned so you are keeping your money somewhat local…

I have that same scope on my Savage 220 bolt action 20 gauge shot gun, love the scope and love that gun! Was not sure if that scope was built for the abuse a muzzleloader can dish out???

The ultimate slam is actually listed as a shotgun/muzzleloader scope by Leupold.I have had mine on about 8 yrs with no problems.I shoot a 223grn powerbelt with 100 grns ffg loose 777.

I put the Nixon inline XR scope on my pro hunter fx. I used the Leupold quick release rings and base. If you go with this setup get the high rings. I have the medium and it’s so tight to the gun that the rear sight doesn’t fit. The base is also to long to fit the rear sight. I had to take everything off to hunt the muzzleloader season. I’ll figure it out this winter.

I should add that shooting Blackhorn powder and 250 grain Shockwaves I’m shooting 1.5 inch groups at 100 yards. Haven’t had a chance to shoot it farther yet.
