Recommend weight for buck shots

    Just wondering what your guys recommendation or what’s some of your ways in choosing the correct weight for your buck shot rattling spoons?

    Let the fish tell you, 1/8 will work well for everything, 1/4 might be better for walleye and deeper water, I use 3/8 and 1/2 sometimes when I am river fishing depending on the current.

    X2 on that advice. If walleye, I start with a 1/8th then move up or down one size depending on the day. If perch, I might start at the 1/16th. This goes for most spoon type lures in my tackle box

    The other advice is pick the opposite of what I do when it comes to buckshots. One lure that seems to not pay off for me and my buddies know it devil

    I’d get some 1/16th for perch and crappie. 1/8 and 1/4 for walleyes.

    I almost always start with the biggest size and work down.
    Honestly I usually have a rippin shad (rattle bait) and then move to spoons.

    IMO, easier to dial in a bite by starting fast and aggressive and slowing down/downsizing as needed
