Sorry no fishing on this trip.
Looking for recommendations for places to see (areas in fall color) towns to visit- oceanside areas with scenic view ect.
Also any reasonable bed and breakfast or hotels in the areas.

    Thanks

I actually lived in Bath, Maine for a short time when I was a kid. It was a beautiful area (my memories are mostly from pictures because I was so young).

Being right on the ocean or never far from it was pretty cool.

If I were you, I’d find an area of deciduous forest near the coast. Then you could tell your wife…”Oooohhh….Look at that stunning maple tree…..awwwwwhhhh….look at that white oak turning….”

Then say…”Wowwww! What are the odds? There’s a charter boat we can hop on right over here!” mrgreen

I use to travel to New England for work a lot a few years ago. The coast of Maine is awesome going from Ogunquit all the way up to Boothbay Harbor. Gazebo Inn in Ogunquit is nice and if you want to be budget friendly Meadowmere Resort is nice and walking distance from anything. In BoothBay Harbor The Greenleaf Inn, Topside Inn and Five Gables Inn are all nice B&B’s.

New Hampshire is kinda of a sh**hole but I’ve stayed at Mountain View Grand Resort and that would be a good drive up during the fall colors. Its funny people from Maine and Vermont would all tell me that New Hampshire is like the forgotten step child of New England.

Stowe in Vermont is an amazing place in my opinion. Lots of good lodging options and beautiful scenery. The Lodge at Spruce Peak and Smugglers Notch are great resorts but if you are looking for B&B Stone Hill Inn or Edson Hill if I remember are good.

Acadia National Park is a “must see” and should be gorgeous in the fall. Lots of great biking and hiking in Acadia if you so desire.

The drive up the coast from Boston to Acadia (through Portland and Portsmouth) is very scenic with some great towns and food along the way.

    Enjoy!
