    Hi All,

I am missing a piece in my rear livewell recirculation pump input. This is a filter screen but it does not stay put because I think that it is missing some piece on the female end. Anybody know what that missing piece and what it’s called?

    Missing Piece?

Looks like it should plug right in. Maybe just a loose fit?

Pipe thread tape may help hold it in.

nope it just falls out. Would require 1/16″ of thread tape.

All the ones I’ve had just slip-fit and plug right in or I believe I had one that threaded on.

Is the female fitting cracked or spit by chance?

That looks more like a screen for the output or livewell drain verses an input. If there’s junk getting that far, it’s already been through your pump. Or it should be on the outside of your boat keeping stuff from getting into your pump.

Does the fitting on the screen screw off? If yes, just screw the screen onto the fitting in the livewell without it.

Mine doesn’t stay in either. This is for the recirculating pump (recirculates water from within the livewell) and I believe mine has one for the livewell drain as well. Fish cough up all sorts of unmentionables and they will clog the line. There is a different screen on the outside of the transom for the water intake.

Absolutely CaptainMusky!! I have the same screen in my front livewell it fits but I can’t see why this one doesn’t, I should have measure both openings I guess they look the same to me though.

Maybe they just gave me the wrong part for the rear livewell.

Yeah, doesn’t make sense to me either why it always comes out. Then I don’t notice it and crap gets clogged in it. Not a pleasurable experience cleaning that out.

It looks like it has a seating position for an o-ring. I would guess that is what your missing.
