Not really. We fish the same weekend every year in the fall and I keep notes as to the water temp and flow at that time. I then look at the current temp and try to match it with a past trip with the closest temp and start fishing the spots that produced on that trip.
Then you throw flow into the mix.
Typically the cooler it gets we have found fish more in the river than in the lake. I typically fish shallower or in the back areas if the flow is up.
I am very far from an expert but typically bag enough for a 3 man fish fry each night which is our daily camping goal.
