Recent Topics Module?

Up until a week or so ago, a “Recent Topics” module displayed near the bottom of every IDO forum and post page. Can the site managers please bring that back?

Pretty needy group of people on a free site.

Probably not anytime soon. That was one of the functions that was bogging down response times and causing website time outs.

Although we did cache the data queried for the recent topics widget it could still cause traffic pileups during refresh. The new database table I am using to track active topics could probably be used to show recent topics too, without the performance impact.

When I’m under the hood this weekend I’ll see what I can do.

Why not simply click on the link on the right side of the page “View Posts” “In the last day”? that is what I do. Never even noticed the other thing.

On my laptop, active topics is on the left hand side. On my mobile, it is a red bar near the top with a drop down arrow. Still there.
