Recent Deer Rut activity

Has anyone been out in the woods lately in Central Minnesota? I’m just curious of if there is much going on yet in regards to the rut. I made my last visit to my deer hunting area several weeks ago to check the safety of our stands and to do a little trimming of shooting lanes. On that visit I did not see any sign’s of ground scrapes. I did find several really fresh tree rubs so that was a good sign. My original thought was with a rather early deer opener this season that the rut may be limited for the 1st weekend. I was hoping that someone who has been out recently would have a good report of the rut activity picking up in the last week or so. Good luck to everyone – Be safe out there !!!

I hunted last sunday, saw 2 small bucks and a few does. Ended up shooting a doe for the freezer. Since then the cameras have picked up a lot of small bucks chasing does at last light, and we have some new scrapes. This is north metro 601.
