Hello, I have an AAVIX 3000W inverter generator, and I have two deep cycle batteries series that I want to connect to the inverter that is already in the generator. So I can switch between using either as power. This is supposed to be the wiring diagram from AAVIX but some wire colors dont match. What I need to know is which two wires going into my inverter would I bridge my +/- battery cables to, so that when I plug into my generator with it off, I am drawing my battery power through the generator receptacle.
    Thanks!!

I understand what you’re trying to accomplish, but what makes you think that the built-in inverter has the capability to handle a 24V DC (2 batteries in series) input, to create the 120V AC output you’re looking for?

    Hello
    Thanks for replying!
I have no idea my friend, I’m just really hoping it does. I’m out here living in the woods hacking out a homestead.
Also maybe series was the wrong word I’m keeping them at 12V and doubling AH
    Thanks!

ahhhh, got it. I’ve looked at the manual, there’s not enough detailed information to determine what wires coming off the motors’ stator that feed the inverter might be a 12V level. Also, chances are there’s no voltage regulator involved, so when the motor is running it would be sending full amperage to your batteries, baking them out in a short time.

Great idea to combine the input voltage sources, but possibly not achievable with what you currently have.

Enjoy life “off the grid”, HRG

That’s the great thing! As long as I make the batteries easy disconnect and never have them plugged into the inverter rig I make while it’s running then my batteries stay good! This generator has a 12v output charger for car batteries with clamp cables so the batteries will be used alone only via the pre existing receptacle.
Now to just find those two magical wires and put a quick connect in each one…
And thank you I love it!!
