What a fishery I was there to fish a walleye tourney and there was good walleye fishing most of our fish were caught trolling cranks with stick baits getting the nod over shad baits I had my best luck trolling main lake shallows with points producing the best fish.On game day we casted bill dance fat free shads on a couple key points that produced quality fish during practice we ended up with 10#plus and 6th place. We also caught some really nice silver bass and some nice crappie as well the people targeting crappies were having a ball.I deffinetly want to go back for a trip that lets me fish all spiecies as there were alot of action good place to take the family

everyone who makes a trip to rathbun right now will find great numbers and size in either crappies or walleyes. a friend of mine won both crappie tournaments on the 14th and 21st. fished with two diff partners, his son on the 21st. won between $800 & $1000 of the 14th, won a $15000 bass tracker rig on the 21st. i hear rumors he has that for sale at a very very reasonable price. they are local pool 14 regulars and place every year. they say this is the best crappie year at lake rathbun in many many can’t wait to make my trip and it won’t be just one. gotta do what ya gotta do when the time is right…………and that is now. gooooooooooood fishing guys.

LOOKS like finally we will have a banner crappie year at rathbun, besides all the big walleyes.
