fished miami lake on thursday evening for crappie and caught about 50 crappie in two and 1/2 hours using small crappie jigs, any color, but all fish were 7″ or less. so decided to hit rathbun friday, fished for about 2-3 hours in deep water at mouths of coves and caught one or two fish, then moved into the flooded grass and started to catch fish consistently. caught fish on jigs and/or minnows/bobber combinations. the bigger fish were tight into the grass and it seemed the muddier the water the better. ended up bringing ten fish home for the fryer, all about 9-11″.
