What’s everyone’s thoughts on these? I believe they are only available in Canada and Europe. I did some google searching and did find a few to order, they are a hair over 3″ long and just under a half ounce. Look forward to trying them out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rf-J7bYIryQ

Those are interesting. I suppose the advantage over plastic would be durability and the rattle…

I don’t know, but thanks to you I just made a large purchase from a shady over seas vendor on a bunch more fishing lures I may or may not use toast

I purchased some about a month ago from this site

    http://www.waveinn.com

I was worried also about overseas purchase but it worked out OK, they even refunded some on my card because they did not carry the bluegill color. Mike

I just received my 4 lures in the mail yesterday. It took 11 days from order to arrival, better than what I expected. I also talked to Mark Fischer at the Sportshow yesterday and he said the key in using these lures is to have constant pull on the line during retrieval. Pausing, jerking can cause the line to get caught in the hook sometimes. Looking forward to trying them out this summer as the weed edges fill in —

I was considering picking up a few of these and wanted to see how you did with them / how much did you like them?

    Please let me know.

I have a handful and had some success trolling through weedy areas for pike. Probably goes without saying but they aren’t completely weedless. They work well trolling through sporadic weeds or along inside/outside edges. Worth a shot imho if you are looking to get a few.

I used mine for awhile – wouldn’t order again. The action isn’t very good on these and as stated above, they resist weeds but aren’t that weedless. The biggest drawback with these is the hook up percentage, pretty low.

I switched back to using swimbaits in/around weeds. MUCH better tail action especially at slower speeds (I use Keitech on screwlock swimbait hooks) fairly weedless, decent hook up percentage.

Or, if the weeds aren’t that heavy, I think you get better action and hook up percentage with a squarebill.

Maybe there’s a reason these Rapala Weedless Shads haven’t taken off in the US market…
