    When did Rapala buy VMC? Anyone know?

    They acquired Storm in 1998 and are even minority owners in 13 Fishing.
    They’re vast.

    They purchased VMC in 2000 and currently own:
    Rapala
    VMC
    Storm
    Suffix
    Luhr Jensen
    Blue Fox
    Williamson
    Terminator
    Mora
    Strike Master
    Dynamite
    Carp Spirit
    Water Queen
    Tortue
    Ultrabite
    Willtech
    They hold 49% of 13 Fishing and 50% of Shimano Fishing in Europe.
    As well as a few “gift” companies in Europe and China, knife manufacturer Marttiini and ski manufacturer Peltonen.
    They also own numerous tackle shops with a large online sales presence, mainly in Europe (Guigo Marine, FishCo, Fun Fish…)
    I am probably missing a few.

    Pure Fishing and Rapala combined nearly form the industry.
