Fillet knives from Rapala USA are being recalled after the company deemed the product was a fire hazard, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said.

The item number for the product is RRFN. The knife handles are black and gray, and the Rapala logo is printed in red on the handle, along with the word “ION” in white.

I have a 30+ year old Rapala fillet knife that doesn’t use batteries – is that a fire hazard, too?

    I can’t find a list.

    How about the RRFNB?

I meet all the other criteria listed.

Upon further review it does have a white ETL label, so I’m good.

Has anyone talked to them to know what to do. I called and left a message. Said would be returned by end of day. That was Tuesday at 9AM.

I contacted Rapala by email on Tuesday and also have heard nothing in response. I can only assume that they are swamped with the recall. I will attempt again next week.
