Has anyone installed any downrigger boards (Traxstech, Cannon or others)on their Ranger? I have a Reata 1850 I am setting up for both LOTW walleye and Superior salmon fishing. Want to hear what has worked, what hasn’t. Want to minimize stress on the mounting points for a track system, and will use backer plates, but still concerned about the torque applied from the risers and the weight of the downriggers and balls.

My friend is running a Skeeter 1890. He just mounted the cannon base plate with a backer. No Issues yet and pretty firm. I just recieved my 6′ Traxtech rails to mount on my Alumacraft.
What are you planning to mount on the tracks besides riggers, maybe some rodholders for dipsies? What length track are you planning on going with, I would reccomend as long as you can fit/afford. They really make rigging universal. I am making slide in plates for my Scotty rod holder bases out of .250 x 3.030″ wide aluminum plates.
