Hey Kooty…you ever get around to getting a 620 for that spot in your garage???

Ranger people aren’t snobs….we are just better than everyone else.

When I bought mine the sales guy told me it means I own the lake, river, road or where ever I am with it. I didn’t believe him at first.

Too bad last year with the new kid at home it meant all I owned was the garage most of the year.

I have about 12 hours on my Ranger…I have had it to 45 mph at 4500 rpms..

Is it common to be at the speed of your RPM’s all the way thru to max RPM’s ?

I guess my Ranger is considered old at this point.

1998 681VS with 135 Mariner Optimax. Pictures were taken back in ’05.

And yes, yours is faster then mine.

The only thing a Ranger is ever going to be faster than is another Ranger Just Kidding. I’ve owned a Ranger in the past. They may not be the fastest boat but they are one of the best built!!!!

The layout on those 681’s is very similar to the 618’s. Wish I had a stock front deck insert like you have!

It’s great for casting. 2 guys can easily throw from up front. Lots of room for vests, anchor rope, lunch or whatever underneath also.

I have looked every year since 1998 for a new boat. Every year I can’t seem to find one that fishes the way this one does. I must admit, I did buy a Tuffy tiller a couple of years ago. My wife, bless her heart wouldn’t let me sell the Ranger. (to pretty ) so now I have 2. The Ranger doesn’t get alot of use every year but we manage to chase smallmouth a few times a year with it.

You can buy a Yugo or a BMW and all brands in between. Same with boats.

Knock and make fun of Rangers all you want. There is a reason they conquered this market.

I wanted to be a snob but can’t afford a 620. So here is a poor-man’s snob boat. 2006 Reata 1850. The picture is old as the spare tire is no longer there to get hung up at the launch.

nice boat kevin and the rest of the guys – i will drop some images of my tiller out here later.

as far as the fast rangers go – my ’08 621 with an evinrude 250 HO did 67 down river and 59 up via GPS and my latest tiller hit 54 before i was into the rev limiter…

I have been a part of the “Ranger Family” for about 6 years and can say that it IS the BEST boat that I have ever fished out of or owned! I have had Lund Pro-V’s and Crestlliner 202RCL’s in the past and they were both good boats, but not Great. The fit and finish of a Ranger is unbeatable and the ride is legendary. All we need now is soft water or the Rainy to turn on. Good Luck, 690reece

i was recently told at a fishing tourney by a fellow pro v owner that you have to work your way up to be a “ranger prick”. Well I am now 3 days away from being one, just bought a 620 with a 250xs (the hand built by the racing division version) I pick it up Thursday and can not wait to open her up!!!!

Congrats dakotahunter on your new purchase! Just rode in a couple of the new ones in Chamberlain, SD last week and they really fly! Blew the doors off my ’04 620! It’s amazing what people will say, and to think I used to run a Lund.
