when should these be replaced. Mine seem to be running slower than normal.

I beleive these are the cartridge type pumps.

Pull it apart and inspect the fins.If they show wear then replace them.

You say “pumps” as in more than one pump?

If all of them are suddenly running slower, I’d suspect electrical problems before I’d suspect the pump.

Under load (with pumps on) did you test your battery(s)? What’s the voltage reading?

Are your batteries kept on an on-board charger? Are you sure they’re fully charged? No chance someone unplugged your charger and you didn’t notice it, etc.

Next, I’d run a resistance test of the wires and see if you have a wire issue.

I pulled them last night. they seem to be running fine with no wear on the fins. i wonder if the hoses are kinked or blocked?

Pull the pumps and back flush the hoses with water. You’ll probably see a mouse nest or a dead one come out. Seen it a few times.
