It appears that my front bait well on my 617 gave up the ghost on me out of nowhere today. When I hit the switch, It does not even turn on. I am hoping I can just replace the pump. Anybody run into this before ?

Well, I managed to find my owner’s manual and it appears I have three options

    1. Check fuse, replace if necessary
    2. Check wire connection at pump
    3. Replace pump

I think I am on # 3. Does anybody know what type of pump Ranger uses ? I think it is Rule ??? Thanks.

I’m not familiar with the floor layout of your 617 but the 619 and 620 I’ve fished from each had a lid/hatch you could remove. It was on the floor in front of the rear live well. Open that lid and identify each pump by turning on the ones that work. When you find the non functioning one simply turn it left and remove the cartridge. Sometimes you get lucky and some small item gets lodged in the pump. Simple removal and your good to go. Most times they simply have out lived their life span and need to replace. Pretty simple maintenance IF you have access to them. A quick call to any Ranger dealer and they’ll have the correct part number for you and most dealers stock this part.

    Good fishing…

Thanks, yes found them, but like George Castanza, they can’t go left…

Just wondering if I need to go through Ranger, of I can get replacements locally.
