Just got a new lift for the cabin so I don’t have to put the boat in and out every time i want to use it. Any suggestions for how to set the bunks to support my 620? I was thinking of trying to replicate the way my inner most bunks on the trailer are set? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a good starting point. You can adjust from there if it doesn’t feel solid.

Picked up a 620 this spring and had to get a new lift as well. I contacted Ranger to get their suggestions on bunk set up. Al they would say is match the trailer. So I went to the extreme of 2 sets of bunks on my lift. Still trying to get the bugs worked out of the lift but the boat settles in nicely.

I emailed Ranger and got the same answer. Only have one set of bunks so far and i set them to the same measurements as the inner bunks. seems to work fine, but i am considering getting a second set of bunks to watch the outer bunks on the trailer if it seems to be unstable side to side.

I really don’t think you’ll need more than one set of bunks. The boat just sits there–it’s not getting bounced down the road or anything, so I would be comfortable with one set.

It’s been said I’m overly cautious but my rig is on Mille Lacs and we are exposed to high winds. If the wind gets bad, I usually only have one shot at getting on the lift. If i miss it’s tough to get a second chance. That’s when it gets bounced around. There is nothing but big rocks in front of the lift. That’s why I went with the 2 sets. It helps with stability & setting in the right position on the bad days.

I’ve seen a number of boats get destroyed on the lake. I hope to avoid that with mine.

Understandable in those circumstances! I am fairly sheltered with the exception of strong south winds and have nothing but sand all around my lift. If it does get really bad i always have the ability (on the property)to back my trailer in and pull it out completely. Thanks for all the help!
