that use a Terrova/iPilot? I just replaced my Maxxum with the 60” Terrova and after looking at how far it hangs off the boat I got some concerns with the tower/tower roller possibly hitting the TM with launching? In the past at some launches, like steep launches, the roller on the tower ‘rolled’ over the bow point and hit the Maxxum. It wasn’t a huge issue because it just moved the power head a bit. I also launch the boat myself often so I usually back in a little further and push the boat off the tower prior to driving it off. Sometime the boat ‘drops’ off the tower and the bow end up under the roller. Seems like if this happens it might hit the TM prop.

Has anybody had issues with this or maybe I need launching lesson to avoid this? I know I could always just launch with the trolling motor off but I really would rather not have to do that every time.

I think others have used the quick release bracket to resolve this issue. You just pull the motor back on the bracket until you launch. The new Terrova will be well worth the small hassle of having to move it back a bit to launch the boat. Enjoy

I have the same issue, sometimes it catches a little, I did actually crack the plastic the first time or two, but it’s not really noticeable, and now that it’s cracked I don’t worry about it much and even all that it hasn’t really presented a real problem.

To help, I try and lubricate the bunks a little with silicone, and then I can drive it up a little easier and not put the trailer in so much on the poor launches.

I can’t really slide it on the bracket I have. The prop was facing the bow point so I flipped the power head around so now there is less of the power head to hit. I dumped the boat in this weekend and didn’t have any issues. Granted I wasn’t on a steep launch, but I am feeling a little better now. Thanks for the help.
