I have an 2005 620 with a full windshield, I just bought a HDS-10 for the dash, dont think the ram mount is sturdy enough for the 10″ unit. What else is out there?

2 options I am aware of for the RAM system.

    1. Use 2 single 1.5″ balls side by side. Total of 4 balls and 2 arms.
    2. 2.25″ dia. RAM ball mount.

I have the 2.25″ ball for my 111hd and it works just fine in my opinion.

I went to a stabil mount also on my 112. There are very sturdy.

I used stabil mounts to mount my 958 and 1198 on my new boat. Couldn’t be happier!!

The realy big Ram mount should be enough. you see them in use on the bass trail with big units up front!! My friend uses the swing away Ram mount with his HDS 10 and really likes it, another option, if you got the room.
I have the regular Ram mount for my HDS 8 and it is not enough!! If I had the room on the dash I would use the really big johnny ray mount.
The big Ram mount is about 117$!! thats alot just to mount your sonar.
remember the good old days when boats had nice flat spots to mount your electronics?? I miss that.

I have 2 HDS 10’s mounted in my 620 using the 2.25″ Ball heavy duty ram and they don’t move. I leave the one in bow mounted from floor in the position I prefer it to be in and it doens’t move. Even in the really rough stuff.
Next boat will have exact same.
    Just my $.02

Yup…the big ram mount holds an HDS 10 nicely. I am going to get another big RAM for the HDS7 I bought this winter for the bow.

Not that much when we are talking about $3,000 in electronics.
