The new merc.

    A buddy of mine is buying a 620T with the new 150 merc 4 stroke tiller. He’s a little concerned about the new motor. His last ranger had a Suzuki and he loved it. Anyone have any experience with this motor? The 150 yamaha topped out in the low 50s, any guesses on on the merc? Thanks

    Is that the new four stroke, not sure anyone has run one?

    I have the 115 fourstroke and it’s a solid motor but the hole shot isn’t very good. I have it on a 17′ crestliner. My buddy has the same boat with the yammi 115 and he’ll be accelerating while I’m still trying to get on plane. But this is newer technology so maybe it will be better. I’ve heard the verados are way better then the fourstrokes but they are also different hp ranges.

    If he learns to keep his cool as far as speed goes and keeps it around 3000-3500 r.p.m. he’ll have great gas milage, if however he can’t keep his trottle under control, Oh Well !!!!!
