Ranger R93 front deck pedestal

Looking for some advice. Been gone from fishing for nearly 20 years, now approaching retirement and recently purchased a nice R93 Ranger get back onto the water. Have owned 6 previous bass boats, first ranger. The pedestal position on the R93 is well up into the nose of the front deck, felling like I’m hanging over the nose of the boat when fishing. Would like to move pedestal socket back, but directly behind the pedestal socket is a large storage compartment. Installing a pedestal socket in this deck lid gives me concerns about the strength of the lid and its ability to hold up to my weight and stress of a seat. There is another socket in the floor behind the front deck but I think it is too far back, even if I put a deck extension on.

Has anyone else encountered this and come up with a solution? Don’t want to butcher up a nice boat but would like to get more comfortable.
