Ranger interior finish

I have a 2017 Ranger 1880 Angler. I don’t know exactly what it’s called but the plastic or whatever it is made of in side and along the sides of the interior is discolored. It started out dark grey and now it’s a mottled mish mash of light and darker grays. The boat is not left uncovered unless I am fishing so pretty disappointed in how it looks. It started to fade out in year 2.

Anyway… looking for ideas on a product or process that works to restore this material. I’d like to know what has worked for others

Mother’s brand makes a product called Back to Black that works good on faded black plastic.

Just tossing this out there in case you were not aware. You need to be super careful with spray on bug repellants that contains DEET. Any kind of overspray that gets on the plastic will discolor it.

100% and keep it away from sunglasses or GPS screens and windshields! Ugh

Theres a vinyl refinisher in the boat section at Fleet Farm that brings plastic back to color real well. It might be off the shelves for the winter already but it would be in the boat chemicals. I used it on car dash, and a plastic canoe and it brought the color back on both.

We don’t let any aerosols on the tritoon or fishing boat. It goes everywhere and damages the things listed above too.

The roll-on sun block is better, and there are some pretty good alternative options to aerosol bug spray now too.

yeah, bug spray and/or sunscreen have removed the chrome from my kicker radio trim on the boat. the sunscreen tens to stain the seats as well. I keep asking my wife to stop with the spray on… but it falls on deaf ears.

Picaridin based bug spray works just as well I think and doesn’t damage things.
