For the guy who left me a text msg recently. Looking for prop / performance info.
I’m running a 21 pitch Merc Vengance SS Prop. Motor is a Merc 150 Optimax. Boat and motor are 2003.
Running alone, half tank or less of gas I can hit 50 at 5650 rpm’s in good conditions. The prop has very good bow lift and hole shot. I’m happy with the overall performance. At 4000 rpm, 2 guys and gear runs near 40 comfortably.
When I bought the boat it came with a 23 pitch Trophy. No hole shot or bow lift, but could get into the upper 50’s on a good day. Personally, anything nearing 50 in a 618 is fast enough.
With the gas tank in the bow of the 618, you need a prop that can lift all that weight up front along with whatever T-motor you have up there.
