I know some of these recipes use popcorn oil and you bake the mixture, but I went simple with this recipe. Enjoy!

    Ranch Chex Mix

    Ingredients
3 cups each Corn Chex, Rice Chex, and Wheat Chex
    2 cups bite-size pretzel twists
    2 cups Cheeze-Its
    4 tablespoons butter, melted
1 package (1 oz) ranch dressing mix (such as Hidden Valley Ranch)

    Preparation
    1. In large microwavable bowl, mix cereal, pretzels and Cheeze-Its. In small microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 30 seconds or until melted. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated. Stir in ranch dressing mix until evenly coated.
    2. Microwave uncovered on High 3 minutes, stirring after each minute.
    3. Start munching cuz it’s good warm!

I bet it’s delicious! Might have to try it.

We do something similar before fishing trips. Toss pretzels, olive oil and a ranch packet in a bag and shake it up. Spread them out on a cookie sheet and bake @350 for 10 minutes. Best pretzels ever!

Thanks a lot Sharon. Now I have to go buy another set of boxes of cereal and the Ranch Seasoning mix. I’ve had this mix before and its pretty darned good so I’ll give it a go.

I was going to do the regular old Chex Mix this weekend and probably will stick with that plan. I double the amount of Lea & Perrins and use all butter and do mine in double batches. I could live on this stuff. Now with the jerky done I might. lol

I am a chex mix fan BIG TIME! I unfortunately suck at making it so what is the best way to get a good even coating on the mix? I thought you just pour it over but it never seems to coat evenly.
    BTW that looks awesome Sharon!

That looks darn good, that I will do. I remember a couple years ago Chex made a ranch? It was short lived but dang they were great.

I also do a version or chef mix with lots of garlic and butter worst sauce and nuts and pretzels and other serials that looking at keeps the vampires away and gain 5 pounds. I think it came from the old recipe from Chex but with my own spin on it.

Don’t go buy these – you’ll eat the whole damn bag.

It’s difficult to stir this without crushing the cereal. But I use a low, wide bowl so that when I pour the butter over it I get better coverage. Give it a good shake or three, then dump the ranch packet powder over it and stir again.

Some pieces end up more coated than others and that’s okay.

We’ve done different variations. Try swapping out the Cheeze-Its with Goldfish crackers for a fun fishing theme. waytogo

Oooh Goldfish sound fun! And I could even do the pretzel Goldfish rather than the regular pretzels. Are those Fritos in yours too? Man, the possibilities are endless!

I make the plain old mix a couple times during the holidays. It just doesn’t seem to stick around long in this house. I like the goldfish in that which I make instead of pretzels and I tried fritos last year along with the gold fish and will be making this blend from now on.

I also like that puffed corn snack with the caramel coating. Dangerous stuff to have near the tv. Jerky and venison snack sticks are mean to have hanging around the tv room as well.

    Then there’s this stuff…..
