The people that rag on Cane’s lines must’ve never actually gotten in one. That’s the beauty of Canes. All they have to make is one thing. Tenders. So they always have them ready. Even their sandwiches are made using their tenders. I’ve been in those lines around the block and I’ve had my food in less than 15 minutes because it moves fast. I won’t say it’s the best quality out there, but I like it better than Chick FilA, KFC and our crappy northern Popeyes.

But if we had real Popeyes, it wouldn’t even be a fair fight.

One annoying thing about Cane’s is the ones I’ve been to crank music through speakers along the drive through. That and the “Chickin, chickin what combo you picking” greetings.

Well Canes and Chick Fil A just fell down a peg! Slim Chickens opened in St Cloud this week and I was by it today so I had to swing in. I got 3 chicken fingers, texas toast and fries. I got it to go. The fingers are hands down the best fingers I have ever had. Since I had to drive to my office the fries and toast are not the best however. They have a ton of different sauces and I got the chipotle ranch which has a bit of a kick to it.

I finally went in to have Chick-fil-A chicken strips for the first time ever on Saturday. Wouldn’t you know it they were out of chicken strips!
So I still need to check that box. I did see the slim chickens in St Cloud as well and now I’ll have to stop there too.

My 1 recommendation is to eat in because by the time I got back to work I really couldnt even eat the fries or toast. The strips were still fantastic!

I would rather have KFC to be honest. I rarely have chicken when I eat out, much more of a burger guy. [/quote

I have always loved KFC regular recipe.

Just had lunch at Slim Chickens…Cool little place. I think it will overtake Canes and Popeyes in St Cloud. Chix strips were excellent. Lot of sauces to choose from.

I appreciate other tastes but couldn’t disagree more. Have had Popeyes several times in Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana,…and others South of the Mason Dixon Line. Probably the WORST fast food I’ve ever tasted…wife agrees. Not sure why we keep trying.
