I think raising Canes is best but the Belle loves Chick-fil-A
Either way have you caught the length of the lines waiting to get chicken? Unbelievable!!!
Funny, in Apple Valley there’s is a KFC next door to Canes and their parking lot looks like a ghost town.

I would rather have KFC to be honest. I rarely have chicken when I eat out, much more of a burger guy.

Never had raising cane’s yet. Had CFA once and was ok. I’d eat at KFC before CFA.

throw in Popeyes and that was the worst I ever had. It’s gonna take a lot for me to go back there. Tried it once out in Fargo. Not sure if it was a one time deal or just that place! doah

Chik Fil A lines are long but they are quick and always accurate. Every fast food place should model their business around them.

I agree, however in NC it’s freakin insane with the lines there. It also makes things 10X worse when people are making left turns to get their fried yard birds.

You’re not the only one who thinks this. I’ve had both multiple times and I don’t get it. I’d describe both as “Meh, it’s chicken.” I’m not saying they are bad, they’re both okay, but okay is as far as I’d go.

Between the 2 of them, I’d rather eat Popeyes.

We tried Cane’s twice after one opened by us and I think it’s gross. Chick-fil-A is OK but Popeye’s is usually the go-to. Sides are probably the deciding factor, everywhere has fries.

Totally agree, sounds like I need to take a run at Popeyes

Popeyes is gross. Only time I’ve taken one bite out of fast food and immediately threw it away. Big fan of Canes. Lines are tough though.

The wife found the recipe for the sauce online and it’s damn close online

How close is a Popeyes around here? I used to eat that often because pretty much every army base had one. I think it’s more common in the south, along with Church’s chicken which is also good.

I don’t eat out often enough to really weigh in, had Chick-fil-A once and never had Canes.

Popeyes took over a bunch of Twin Cities KFCs a number of years ago. Should be easy to find one.

The line at the Maple Grove Canes is always ridiculous, too. Surprisingly, we stopped at the St Cloud location a few months ago and there was no line–couldn’t believe it!

I don’t really have a preference for one over the other. Canes is more convenient for us, usually, and my kids love the buttery Texas toast.

Years ago we were at a local Popeyes. The car in front of us stopped short after going through the drive through. After we got our food, I pulled up our truck behind the car in front of us … we were stuck behind them.

I could have honked, but I got out of my truck and walked up to the driver’s window and knocked. Some pretty scarry gang bangers … they were completely stoned and assume armed. Took two times, but they understood that they needed to move … that one stands out still.

    Food was not impressive.

The lines at the CFA are really insane (long) in the mid-South and South even on a Sunday morning. Church and chicken I guess.

We were just driving by …

I don’t like either but I had KFC for dinner yesterday. They just built a new KFC in north branch and it’s been always fresh and great extra crispy chicken . The family deals are solid and there hot sauce is the best of all restaurants

Canes was a great business idea. All these kids grew up on chicken nuggets at home and off the child’s menu. Many are now in college or adults.

Take chicken nuggets/tenders up a notch and boom – gold mine. The standing line at Canes by the University of Minnesota is often out the door and down the block. Was that way when they opened and still is on a weekend evening.

I like KFC. Remember the Friends episode where Joey has a bucket of KFC. He says hey there will be plenty of chicken left over here … I just eat the skin.

    I can relate.

The residual oil in a KFC is pretty impressive if you ever take a paper towel to a piece.

Never had chains, Popeyes or CFA but have had tons of KFC (used to work there in high school) I would still eat at KFC today. We have the other 3 in St. Cloud also but the lines are insane and I’m not waiting that long for fast food.

We just had this conversation at the bar during lunch last week.
I do love me some good chicken strips!

I’ve had Chick fil a once. It was alright.

I’ve tried Canes 4 times from 3 locations and honestly, I don’t need to go back. Not impressed in the least. Toast wasnt great any of those time either.

    Haven’t done Popeyes yet.

    I do like KFC.

I’d honestly pick the chicken strip basket at DQ over any of the other 3. Followed closely by KFC.

    closed on Sunday???

I heard they have a place in some football stadium

That is correct, they are closed on Sunday. They have 2 service counters inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons, and they are not open on gameday. They are only open when there is a Thursday or Monday night game there, or during other events, as long as they are not on on a Sunday.

I prefer Raising Canes for the chicken fingers. The Caniac sauce is really good. Chik Fil A is pretty good too. I don’t care for KFC.

I like the simplicity of Canes menu. But then again, I eat like a child.

    X2 on DQ basket.

CFA is better and its not even close. The spicy deluxe is the best thing you can order on the menu.

My son and I like both but CFA has the spicy chicken sandwich so winner winner. The waffle fries leave a bit to be desired though.
