We have customers in that are fishing the river down at Birchdale, they told me the landing was slick but didn’t have any problems.
The fishing was slow, there were a few other boats out.The weather is shaping up nice for the next week. The bite is only gonna get better.

My wife and I are shopping for a summer cabin, preferably on a lake. But, we found something we both like on the Rainy River near Loman. I’m thinking of buying this place, but since great fishing is the main reason we are looking up north, I really need to know if fishing the river will be as fun as I know Rainy Lake would be. Can you fill me in on what I should expect? I would still travel to Rainy and other lakes, but if I lived on the river, I’d probably do most of my fishing there. I’ve heard you can’t really have a dock on the river due to the fluctuating water level. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.
