I’ve never fished the lake but we met Bruce on Mille Lacs last Saturday night randomly. Super nice, down to earth guy. I’ve never fished Rainy but if you’re looking for a guide, check him out. His boat is pretty sweet too! FWIW, I’m in no way affiliated, but just passing on my opinion

Bruce is a great guy and a great guide. He grew up in International Falls. They have a group of guides on Rainy and also offer trips on Mille Lacs and Spring crappie fishing in the West metro.
