Need new rain gear due to weight loss and Cabela’s Guideware being over 15 years old.

    What are you guys wearing?

All the major players are pretty good if you don’t buy their cheapest lines.

If you want good but inexpensive then Columbia has some good options. You can get a good suit for about $100.

Grundens is also really good. More geared towards commercial applications but they have lines for regular fisherman.

The Simms suit I have is the best of the 3 but all of them work and have worked in heavy rain.

Simms for me. I have both insulated and non and have been very happy with them. Best I personally have owned.

I got an incredible deal at Sheels. Check out their “discount” rack for rain gear. I got a Stryker bib and a Rapala top both about 50% off since they were singles and they are both the same color and you’d think it was a matching set. Very happy with them and with the money I saved, I spent it on more tackle, gas, bait… you know.

REI also has rain gear on the clearance racks all the time. I got a marmot jacket for like 80% off.

Frog toggs and regret is usually what I wear when it’s raining haha . Striker ice from November to about mid to late April for me . I have been kicking around some nicer rain gear to cut the wind on the days I don’t need the striker .

That’s the smart and/or reasonable move.

Although I, myself, prefer to torture myself by taking risks and long, cold, (tiller) wet boat rides.

Always nice to have a suit on or near ya! Also waterproof shoes/boots that can slip off easily.

I just bought a light weight Ascend Bone Dry jacket and pants at Cabela’s with a gift card. Looks good and Im sure works good but I would not consider it built for rough service.
