Let me start by saying I live in the middle of nowhere without the ability to try anything on… I’m 6’1 and 300lb, currently have a set of Simms Challenger bibs/jacket in 3xl. Too damn tight in the midsection. Can anyone confirm other brands of 3xl that may be a little roomier?? I was looking at Frog Togg Pilot II’s and ready that they do run bigger. Any other input?? Thanks

I’ve got a set of Frogg Togg Pilot 11’s. I called Frogg Togg’s headquarters, and they were very helpful about sizing. I usually wear XL, but went with L. They fit me perfectly. Give them a call. Btw, I have Simms, Helly Hansen, and Grunden rain gear. I’m impressed with my Pilot’s.

Hey, thanks for the input. So I’m guessing you wear an XL Simms suit? And would you go as far as to say that maybe the L Togg Pilot’s for similar to the XL Simms? I’ll call them for sure.

Sizing on everything these days is all over the place. It also seems like the standards have changed to what a L is now a XL. I’m 5’10 and around 220 and have been close to this size for a few years. I never use to have problems with a XL in most clothing items and even L in some. These days I do not dream of ordering anything in less than 2XL. Looking at the sizing charts for Simms, Blackfish, and Frogg Toggs there does seem to be some big differences. in 3XL here is whats listed for each:
    Jacket – Simms – Chest 52-54″ Sleeve 37-38″
    – Blackfish – Chest 50-53″ Sleeve 41.5
    – Frogg Toggs – Chest 61″ Sleeve 39″
    BiBs – Simms – Waist 45-47 Inseam – 34″
    – Blackfish – Waist 45-47 Inseam 33
    – Frogg toggs – Waist 55″ Inseam 33

So it does look like the Frogg Toggs are the largest of the 3.

Correct. Most everything I wear is XL, but not the Frogg Toggs. Calling is still your best option. They could have different advice.

I think that Simms run bigger than most other brands. They for sure run bigger than frabil and ice armor brands I have had in the past.

I just picked up the Frog Togg Pilot two years ago and they are quite spacious. I did wear the set on that rainy April downpour and they worked very well. The other time it was just a like drizzle and I was then noticing just how much more spacious the bibs were feeling during a walk to the fishing spot. Sort of felt the bulky-ness during the walk.
