I’d love to see weekend rain. If it gives us a little flow in the river, lowers surface temps a bit, and helps out the crops and trees here that’d be perfect.

I’m seeing 30% chances both days here. Far from any washouts or even likely accumulation.

MPR News reported yesterday that the period between May 15 – June 15 was the driest on record at MSP since they’ve been keeping records. Dates back to 1877. They’ve recorded 0.26 inches of rain in that 30 day span, which is usually the wettest 1 month period on record during the entire year. YIKES

A month if no rain and now I finally get the time for a day of golf on Fathers Day and now it’s gonna rain. Damn state.

I hate spending time in the summer mowing. I’ve mowed twice so far. Doesn’t look like I’ll need to for awhile. We have plenty of water in our lakes and rivers from the record winter snowfall. Life is good here.

I remember very well the wetter years about 5 years ago where you needed to mow at minimum once a week to keep it under control. Now that I have a much larger yard, that is going to get old when we return to the wetter years.

However, I’d still rather have the health of running creeks, lush, greenery, etc. Doesn’t feel right to live in a dust bowl for the third summer now.

So would I. And contrary to popular belief, some rivers and streams are alarmingly low already for mid June.

Had a nice light rain for the last 90 minutes in southwest Minnetonka. Hope it would be an all dayer but a chance for a t-storm this afternoon. Spread some Milorganite yesterday evening. Hope the grass comes back a bit.

I got 1/2 an inch of rain today. Most I’ve had in over a month.

Only rain we’ve gotten in over a month. Literally haven’t had a drop until yesterday. Really nice to see.

Are you some where near me ? We were hit for all of 4 minutes yesterday, came down good for maybe 2 minutes and then trickled off to nothing. I don’t know hoe much we got because I couldn’t care less about having a rain gauge. But It wet down my garden and my door panels on the truck because my windows were open

Centerville – I don’t have a rain gauge but Wunderground keeps track of it and there is a gauge at the school just down the road.

Was looking forward to getting rained on yesterday AM on the bike back from the river. Decided to go for a swim since it looked like it was gonna get soaked anyways. No rain, but the wet padded biker shorts still gave me some nice wet squishy action doah

Almost all of the rain missed us here in the Saint Cloud area as well. Got just a Little. Almost to small to show up in the rain gage. Its getting really ugly around here. Lots of real dry and brown lawns. A buddy went to one of our favorite local lakes over the weekend and said no way a boat is coming off a trailer there. Not Good. I normally don’t wish for rain often, but I sure am right now.

Rained for about half hour and downpoured for about 10 on the east side of White Bear. Finally got lucky.

We had 2 minutes of a good solid rain in north branch, then it misted for 10 minutes or so.

Looks like its gonna get worse this week with the warm temps. But possibly a multi-day rain maker is coming in next weekend with potential for near statewide moisture, followed by much more comfortable temps in a week. That would be a welcome change.

Could be worse. You could be living in the south this week. The heat index is approaching 120 degrees in most of Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. You literally can’t even really go outside in that for more than a little bit.

We are heading to Houston June 29th. Not looking forward to that heat, but at least they have a pool as does almost everyone down there.

Those pools are unusable in the day time lol. My aunt lives down there we made the mistake to go over July 4th one year. The sun baked us in the pool. I’ll never make that mistake again

Oh yeah that is true for sure. He has some bamboo trees that get pretty tall, but they still dont provide shade after mid day so its a morning late afternoon thing for sure.

New drought monitor shows basically all of central MN now in moderate drought, and severe drought from the north metro to Mille Lacs Lake, westward to St Cloud.

The good news is that a potential big rain maker is likely this weekend, and statewide too. Areas from the metro all the way to the Canadian Border could receive over 2 inches of rain by Monday.

Next week looks cooler and less humid.

Taking my 15 year old and three of his friends to our cabin this evening through Sunday. It’s not a very big cabin and it actually looks like all day rain on Saturday. That’s gonna be smelly and annoying.

    I wouldn’t worry..

The forecast for rain all day….I’ll believe it when I see it. They forecasted rain a few weekends ago and we didn’t see a drop.

    Hope I’m wrong though…
