Since KQRS decided to play the same song on repeat ALL day yesterday (April Fool’s?) and they’re scheduled to begin a new platform tomorrow, I had to browse other radio stations and it got me thinking… what’s your go-to station? I know many of you don’t care for the radio or listen to streaming or your own collection – that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about when you actually have to listen to the radio, which station to you favor?

I used to like 93X but have found myself listening to KQRS more and more over the last few years. I really love listening to The Power Loon out of Brainerd, MN but that doesn’t reach the metro area. BUT I’ve recently discovered you can listen to The Power Loon on their website! It’s been my work radio for the last few days and it’s AWESOME! peace

Sharon there is a power loon out of st cloud 103.7. I listen to that every time I am out back having a fire and a few beers.

There’s also a power loon out of Bemidji 99.1 I believe.

I religiously listened to KQ when I drove yo Ramsey when I was employed. Can’t seem to get it here cept in my vehicle.

That is Z99 and it’s the best classic rock station around. They often play the exact same songs as 107.5 Brainerd Power Loon (St Cloud also has a PL 103.7), but when PL goes to commercial Z99 keeps on rocking. It’s pretty much the only music radio I listen to, and is always a sign we are getting close to the cabin when I turn it on in Leader.

In the morning’s I listen to KFAN or 93X and through out the work day I have KFAN on for background noise. 93X morning show is still good but I miss some of their bits they use to do.

While driving I listen to the country stations on XM radio.

Other than in my car, I rarely listen to music on the radio. I use iHeartRadio and pick the artist I feel like hearing.

I listened to KQ ever since it was album rock. Love the station. Gotten a little top 40 of classic rock the past few years in my opinion. I always loved the morning show as I always had a long commute to work but Tom Bernard got on my nerves a little bit with his arrogance and attitude. You could “feel” it in the other folks on the air with him.
I like Steve Gorman, has some pretty good stories and experience.
Yesterday was comical – Soul Asylum – Need somebody to shove _ ALL DAY long )
It never even dawned on me Sharon that it was April Fools day. Curious to hear about what the “real” story was. Curious to see what they come up with for a new show.
I typically listen to my spotify when in the truck or garage or yard working.

KQ has really fallen on my list. I used to be die hard, but they play way, way too much Queen

    Love Z99 and P Loon !!!

My hatred for Bernard ran so deep I don’t even have a button programmed for 92.5 and haven’t listed to them in many years. That and I grew tired of the music. I can only listen to a song so many times. I loved the Beatles once too, 43 years ago….

The Power Loon is great. Hope KQRS stays rock and plays less of the same songs.

I am hoping KQ makes some changes permanently that I am hearing today: REM, Replacements, Husker Du, Alabama Shakes, Collective Soul, on and on.

KQ has sucked for over 25 years and Tom B was an A-hole.

I’m getting old so CCO for me and actually 6 months ago they changed it up and although Liberal, they have come a bit more to the center.

    and Spotify.
    Love Country and Crooners.

I’m old enough to remember when FM was a real backwaters in radio, AM and especially WCCO was king. Back then KQ would play an incredible range of stuff that you never heard anywhere else. Songs that ran for 10 minutes, underground bands, lots of great stuff. Segal-Schwall band. Turner, Ray, and Glover. Alman Brothers. Crow. Bonnie Raight before she got famous. It was awesome.

Then the station got sold in the mid 70’s and instantly turned “corporate” with repeating playlists, lots of commercials, and DJ’s who would never shut up.

Anybody remember Beaker Street from the mighty 1090, KAAY in Little Rock? You can still heard Clyde on Friday nights over the Internet at arkansasrocks.com

Here is my guess. Gorman morning show. Maybe out of NYC or LA ? Then Jack FM no DJ format all day. Same 80s classic R&R.

I listened to KQ all through the mid 80’s to about 2010 maybe ? Whenever Bernard stopped drinking wine and then started thinking he knew it all because of it. Now living up north.. I listen to the Power Loon 107.5 & Skeeter 101.5 out of Aitkin.

During the work day I’m stuck with radio, early morning before Bernard came on they rocked pretty good, when he came on i switched stations. Although Jack and 107.9 are like clock work, you’ll hear either Prince, Petty, the boss or Elton bout every 15 minutes ( where’s the puke emoji). That being said I’ll always keep xm radio in the pick em up..
