What amazes me nowadays is how very, very few people can say both were bad. Both were BS and shouldn’t have happened.

    100%

Yet some how they’re compared to each other “equally” all of the time, but monetarily they are apples to asteroids.

Big numbers lose real meaning with most people…

Millions, Billions, Trillions….they’re just numbers right??

If you break the math down, it’s crazy to realize how far apart the Floyd Riots and January 6th really were.

    $1,500,000,000 ÷ $2,700,000 = 555.55

The riots cost our country 555 TIMES MORE MONEY than Jan 6.

    Let that sink in.

Any thoughts on how this might effect fishing the Canadian side of the Rainy River on the spring?

Evening nowadays is a case of “yeah, but….” And all I see on this thread are people referring to Jan 6 with the same “yeah, but….” response.

I’m not arguing for the other side. All the burning and pathetic looting during the “mourning” period was trash for our country. So was Jan 6. Yeah but whatever.

It was all bad both ways. Only reason I mentioned politics is because it kind of had a direct impact with this thread, I was only talking immigration and the potential of Canada shutting down entries due to our potential mass deportation. Other then that wasn’t trying to argue one party over another. Nor do I think Jan 6 or floyd have much to do with anything related to the Canadian entries. Those are just pointless arguments here

    Dan, you’re missing my point.

    I agree both were crap.

But one of them was a HELL of a lot worse than the other.

If January 6th was a car crash it would be lucky to make the local paper.

But a 555 car pile up would be unprecedented global news in comparison.

Both are bad. But one of them cost just a “tad” more $$$.

Canada is trying to prevent 3,000 people from illegally crossing the border, because we willingly let in how many MILLIONS??

Its not realistic to think we will be able to stop everyone who tries to cross illegally into this country, they will always find a way. That being said, there has to be ways to make it harder for them to do so, it just comes down to the cost to do so.

Before even getting into policies, let’s talk January 6th. Let’s see the mental gymnastics you do to shrug that one off.

Oh perfect, someone who can explain exactly how deadly that day was. Please, I really want to know how many people died on that day. And show your work… coffee

I agree. The true solution lies with congressional legislation. Not with executive actions, which are only temporary, and often end up in court anyways.

I’m a much happier person knowing my tax dollars will be putting diesel into deportation buses…instead of paying for gender-reassignment surgeries for felons in prison.

I’m curious to hear what effect you think this election will have on the 8th amendment and how courts interpret it.

Let’s look at the case of Adree Edmo for example who sued the Idaho Department of Corrections for gender reassignment surgery. It was first ruled that the surgery be provided in 2018, appealed, and then upheld in 2019. The Supreme Court denied a review of the ruling. The surgery was performed in July 2020. Do you remember who was president during all the times listed here?

It’s odd to me that this legal battle was necessary when it’s supposedly so common? I think the only thing that will change is that you’ll stop getting blasted by propaganda telling you what a big problem is.

Why are us tax payers paying for some freaks gender reassignment surgery. I don’t care who’s in charge.

The war on drugs is incredibly profitable for the government, drugs aren’t going any where nor are they even giving it a 20 percent effort.
