Tuck, I did a test drive in that 1790 combo a week or two ago. We topped out at 34-35 GPS and could troll down to right around 2.

I was impressed by the ability of that motor to get a glass boat with 3 people and a full tank of gas on plane as quickly as it did.

I don’t know why, but as much as I enjoy summer, I always look forward to being in the woods looking for tree rats! For no more eatin that’s on em, yad think I would rather chase something bigger. While I do enjoy hunting other game, squirrle is my first pick followed by duck and geese. After that its all fun. In warren county iowa though, last year they were pretty scarce other than in city parks and places that might get ya a hefty fine if ya was to take em! Lol

I know the feeling – I grew up squirrel hunting as a boy and couldn’t wait for the leaves to turn color and feel the cool, crisp air of the fall hunting season. I still get that feeling every year even though I now put all my efforts into deer hunting.

I still like small gaming when I can. It’s just good table fare!

My youngest son wants to go squirrel hunting. Problem is, I’ve never prepared them. Anybody have a sure-fire recipe for tree rats?

Easy method for tender “just like chicken”

    Clean/prep
Season & roll in flour – shake off excess flour
Drop in hot oil in a skillet and brown (just like frying chicken legs)
Drain oil from pan and keep the squirrel legs in. Add a cup or so of water and reduce heat to a light simmer – covered with a lid. Monitor water so it doesn’t go dry, add as needed to keep mioster in pan. Rotate legs every 5 minutes or so and simmer for about 20 minutes.
Fall apart tender and taste like chicken
