I think that kid was probably majorly stressed, I bet he didn’t realize he said bro 10,000 times.
I also saw a post that said that the captain closed his charter and took his business stuff off the web already.

That captain was a total tool. The kid was terrified when he jumped on is boat.
Yep, he was operating on nerves and adrenaline. I commend him for staying as calm as he did. What an absolute prick that guide is.

He’s got quite the record
His guiding business is permanently closed according to his facebook page. I am out here 300 days a year, evidently entitles you to own the ocean.
Lets close down his construction company also..
What I’ve gathered is that the event that set off the douche captain happened hours before this encounter. The “kid” was fishing in that location near another boat when the captain went through the area on plane. Allegedly someone from the other boat did the yelling in that first contact. The captain then stopped back to confront whoever had offended him and this guy was the only one left fishing in that spot. It really doesn’t matter what the kid said. That captain is getting everything he deserves and is very lucky he’s not dead with Florida’s self defense laws.
I thought I heard the guide accuse “bro” of not having his lights on too. No lights on triggers me as much as hearing someone say bro. But, I’d never board another boat to my case.

That could very well be. Safe to say the entire chain of events could’ve been handled much better. And probably has been countless times before by people that aren’t insane.
I do the same thing when someone is fishing in my spot
or playing out of my pull tab box.
It’s a confusing story. He keeps getting called a Florida fishing guide, but his buiness there is closed. And this event happened in Corpus Cristie Texas.
So I was curious if boarding the boat made bro a pirate, but it turns out bros a stowaway, and can be treated as such including being detained by the owner until they can be deported. Bro almost got himself put into ICE custody. Or he could have been charged and put in jail for 5 years. Ironically the address I have seen for the business is a prison.

THe guide did say that, but the kid said his lights were on, but there was another boat that didnt have lights on.
This guy was a D-bag. One day he will do this to the wrong person and the guy will not do it to anyone ever again. People often question why I carry to certain places. I say because you never know where a criminal or mentally disturbed person may be.
I see that the boat manufacture put out a disclaimer say they did not like what he did in one of there boats. It was also all over there news stations. The bro thing got to me as well. Had a drunken neighbor up the road who talked that way all of the time. Glad he has passed.
Classic three sided story; the Captains side, the kids side and the truth!

I agree with B-man. I told my wife yesterday- every time I hear the word BRO it triggers me at this point (my own kids/friends, work, whatever). You do you! If you watch so many online videos that it alters how you talk or dress- it’s sad.Add the word “Dude” to my trigger list.
But DUDE, that’s my favorite word, bro!

No, it happened in punta gorda/port charlotte, FL, underneath the peace river bridge. Just north of fort myers.
And this kid isn’t the one who had his lights off at 5am, it was a different boat nearby. Also, not sure if it is no-wake under that bridge or not.
I wonder what the other guys on his boat were thinking? not sure if they were customers or friends from the way he was talking. But they don’t exactly look excited to be there.

From Newsweek April 4th: Jon Winowiski, who says he was on the boat with Horner, posted a video to TikTok saying that Horner had been boasting all about being “the best captain in Florida,” but they had not caught a single fish, so they were drinking a lot instead.
He added that earlier that day they had gone under the bridge at around 60 miles per hour. He said that it “kind of scared me, honestly.”
According to Winowiski, when the boat encountered Towles, he told Horner not to take any disrespect from him and to go over to Towles’ boat, but he did not think Horner would actually do it.
How does a guy with that many DUI’s get a captains license from the freaking Coast Guard?
