Quite the story out of Florida

Been following this a little today and the guy is getting a well deserved smack down on social media. The video of the incident is all over. What a douche!

WOW!!! to many ways this could have been worse..

Florida! Home of the concealed carry and the Castle Doctrine. That guy is lucky the kid he messed with was chill. Could have gone very badly and if I was on the jury, would have taken about four seconds to acquit. Bet this does wonders for his charter business. Catch a tarpon and get assaulted plan. Schmuck.

I bet that captain didn’t get a tip after that hissy fit.

Chris Granrud posted this story early this morning. It’ll be interesting to see if he gets his Coast Guard license pulled.

What a jerk. He needs his Captains license pulled. The kid was way more calm than I would of been.

I agree with B-man. I told my wife yesterday- every time I hear the word BRO it triggers me at this point (my own kids/friends, work, whatever). You do you! If you watch so many online videos that it alters how you talk or dress- it’s sad.

My thought when I saw this was the guide was clearly over the top but the kid was clearly to blame as well. Seems things were said earlier in the day that don’t make him completely innocent. And then the kid is pretty lippy to be surprised at the guy coming at him.

He just needed a snickers, give him a break, he’s probably a pretty reasonable bro, I mean he is the best captain ever.

Sounds like the kid may have cut him off while driving the boat is what I gathered. However yeah the guide was a total douche about it and boarding his boat was way over the top. Also assuming those were clients on board he should have been able to control himself.

Maybe at the next gathering I will have to do my best dude/bro impersonation to see how many of you I can trigger.

That man got Bro’d into hulk mode. It turns out real life is a bit different than an online comment section.

What I’ve gathered is that the event that set off the douche captain happened hours before this encounter. The “kid” was fishing in that location near another boat when the captain went through the area on plane. Allegedly someone from the other boat did the yelling in that first contact. The captain then stopped back to confront whoever had offended him and this guy was the only one left fishing in that spot. It really doesn’t matter what the kid said. That captain is getting everything he deserves and is very lucky he’s not dead with Florida’s self defense laws.

His guiding business is permanently closed according to his facebook page. I am out here 300 days a year, evidently entitles you to own the ocean.
