This zoo will name a cockroach after your ex, then feed it to a meerkat on Valentine’s Day!

Looking to get yourself a present this Valentine’s Day? The El Paso Zoo has you covered! Zookeepers will name a cockroach after your ex and then feed it to a meerkat live on camera!

You can message the zoo on Facebook with your ex’s name, then wait patiently for February 14th to watch the roach get devoured during the “Quit Bugging Me” meerkat event, which will live-stream on Facebook and the zoo’s website. The names of those exes will also be displayed around the meerkat exhibit and on social media starting February 11. The zoo calls it “the perfect Valentine’s Day gift.”

While donations are not required to submit names – they do encourage them as they are supporting their local partner The El Paso Del Norte Chapter of the American Association of Zookeepers.

Interesting promotion.

While my ex is a ex it was a very peaceful ending. There would be nothing to gain except it would be funny.

I think that goes for everyone! It’s just something funny they coordinate! And it doesn’t have to be an ex – people have submitted names of coworkers, bosses, in-laws, friends they just want to mess with, etc.

I don’t think there would be anything for anyone to gain, But I bet it sure would make a lot of ex’s really happy !!! I’ve never understood why so many Divorces and Breakups have to turn so UGLY, but it seems like a lot of them do. Makes me wonder if there was any Love in the relationship to start with. Its really sad when there is Kids involved.

You guy’s hurt my feelings

Actually the X did animal education programs and we have had all types of critters.
The Madagascar hissing cockroach was a staple at our place. We also had a Cane toad, you know the kind that you would lick their back. we would feed the baby roaches to. We would also feed that toad mice.

Always hated them snakes she had. Was not a fan of those.

Bitterness … never good for the soul. Let it go. Dumb Idea.

I have seen some pretty ugly divorces around me. It is when the ugliness perseveres year after year, impacting kids … just grow up and think about your kids and their future first.

Some two decades ago. I was coaching a very young youth hockey team (about all I was qualified to do) and after practice … Johny’s mom was being put into the back of a squad car. She showed up at a practice and it was her husband’s weekend. He called the police because they had dueling restraining orders.
